I practiced the panning technique more today and I think I got some much better results than last time. Let me know what you think. I shot these in RAW, so I'm trying to learn to change my process a bit. I chose RAW mainly because a horse this dark is likely to turn out too dark when shooting in snowy environment.
This one is my favorite because the eye is in focus. The snow is still slightly gray-ish but whatever. 1/20s f/9 44mm ISO100 |
This was the second best. The muzzle is in focus in this one and she looks cute and happy. :) 1/20s f/9 49mm ISO100 |
Great pictures you got there, I'm planning on getting a DSLR to, want to do photography as a hobby, let's say it's a long time dream haha.
VastaaPoistaBut I'm just wondering how long does it take to get accustomed to the functions of a DSLR? to get such snaps as you have taken, what's your personal experience.
Oh and your horse looks beautiful, what breed is she?
How long? Well I was all familiar with the manual settings when I got this camera. My old bridge camera had a full manual mode and I used it a lot over the two years I had it. But I don't think it's hard once you get the hang of it.
VastaaPoistaI don't know what breed she is. Her parents are unknown, but some kind of half-blood I guess.
Milla,
VastaaPoistaPanning is one skill that I have never really attempted. I think I will use you as the inspiration to go out and give it a try. I will be sure to share the results of my experiments.
I recently came across a site that I thought you would be interested in.
