Viimeistä viedään tältä vuodelta. Sain syntymäpäivälahjaksi maailman parhailta vanhemmiltani Canon EOS 6D:n, jota piti vielä tämän vuoden puolella päästä testailemaan. Siispä rakensimme Sannin ja Julian kanssa minun ahtaaseen olohuoneeseeni pienen kotistudion ja pidimme potrettisession. Yllätin itsenikin sillä, kuinka hyvät valaistukset saatiin aikaiseksi - vaikkakin kokeilun ja epäonnistumisienkin kautta. Kuvien käsittelyssä päädyin hakemaan satukirjamaista fiilistä molempiin.

In search of colors with Julia

Yesterday we went to the city to shoot some basic portraits of Julia before she runs off to Japan for a month. I have to say, yesterday's shoot was extremely refreshing for me. It was awesome to shoot outdoors again, and we found some cool backgrounds with loads of color. I got to experiment with some new color editing tools in photoshop as well. Julia got to be completely herself with no special themes or anything and the whole shoot was very laid back and fun. Perfect Saturday!

Painting faces with Julia

How did the 2012 go by so fast? The past few days I've been wondering how short a time it feels now that I think how much has happened. Especially with my photography. I have come basically from zero to where I am now with my people photography in a one short year. How is that possible? 

Anyways..The first shoot of the year was with Julia. On Wednesday I went out to buy some face paint, and I got to play with them on Julia's face. 

Thanks to Pasi & Sofia also for helping with the lights and keeping my dog entertained. :P

Beauty-shots with Julia

A friend of mine asked if I could take some Twiggy-styled photos of Julia. I know these don't actually "scream" Twiggy, but that was what inspired this shoot, and I'm super pleased with the outcome. Julia is such a trooper, lives nearby and is pretty much always ready to model for me when I need to get something out of my head. 

I bet you think we went to a studio to take these (or maybe you don't, but anyways..)? Nope. This is what you can get with a white wall, a perfect cloudy day and a reflector! I was almost blown away when I realized the awesomeness of the lighting once we took the reflector out. I would call the feeling a lightgasm. ;)

The spring is right around the corner so I decided to crawl outside my cave into the sunshine. The gorgeous Julia agreed to model for me, and we headed to the downtown for a photoshoot today. I had missed shooting outdoors... Julia was a natural in front of the camera so we had a good time even though there were people walking by.
