I got my Diana prints back!!

I got a call from the lab yesterday saying that my prints were brought back. As you can imagine, I was super excited and called my mom to pick them up today (I'm really sick with a cold at the moment). Well, she just brought them to me and I'm not that excited anymore...

First 35mm Diana film...

My very first 35mm Diana film aaaand it sucks. BIG time.
Apparently I keep "compensating" with the viewfinder, when it's actually doing the exact opposite of good. I keep aiming a little higher than what I see through the viewfinder, although I've told myself a million times to stop it. And now, with the 35mm Back, it's even worse....I was out in the town shooting buildings and stuff with Ms. D and due to this problem of mine I barely have anything at all in my shots, except for the gray sky. Plus I think the color film is pretty much going to waste when shooting these colorless winter scenes.

Oh well...live and learn, right? Now I know to kick myself the next time I stop trusting the viewfinder.

But while my photos suck, this definitely doesn't! An amazing Britney-cover by Sam Tsui & Kurt Schneider. This is obviously one of those songs that have all the ingredients to be amazing, but the original version just sucks (another good example is Rihanna's Umbrella). The true magic comes out when someone else does a better version of it and reveals it to the world.
Enjoy, subscribe and share! :)

PopCam!

I took my first PopCam film to the lab today and 45 min later I had the prints in my hand. There were some decent ones. I didn't expect much, but this camera is still pretty fun. Not for the serious photographers. :)

Ms. D leftovers

Well, I don't know if this is all that special, but I'm truly happy to see that I now have 31 readers! Yey! Thank you people :)

I do have something very special coming up, though. I've started planning a photo shoot with my friend, Juni. She's the girl in The Smile-photo (and many other photos). She's a great girl for me to practice people photography with. I've never been too good in directing people, it makes me very uncomfortable. But now I'm going to plan the shoot specifically and plan exactly what I want beforehand. I already have loads of ideas on paper and I've looked through some inspirational portraits in Flickr. I can't wait to actually do this! I'll make a massive post about it once we've got it on.

Meanwhile, I put some of my Diana photos up on my wall. Here are some captures.

Instax Insanity

I've been playing with my Diana Instant Back+ combined with Fish eye lens. Its size grows hell of a lot more with all the accessories on it, as seen in one of the photos. And if you're wondering that these are crappy pictures, why would anyone want to play with something like that....because it's super fun!! :)

Here's some additional information about the Instant Back+

I'm really bummed right now because I can't find the color gels for the Diana flash. Apparently I've put them somehwere too safe, as usual. This really sucks...

New Ms. D photos!

I just got two film-fulls of Diana F+ photos back in the mail yesterday.
To my surprise, all of them had been exposed correctly. I love it how everything in these photos looks as if it's on a movie screen.

Now I'm trying to get my head around this Ilford Delta 3200 Pro b&w film (ISO 1000).
I have found these two exposure charts really helpful:

Here are some good shots from the ones I got yesterday.

Diana

So this whole film-thing has taken a new wind.
I finished a film just today and I've been writing down all info after taking a photo. Hopefully I'll learn something after having it developed. I bought a flash to my Diana F+ and it's super-cool!

We have a film scanner at school and I'm very excited about that. Now I don't necessarily have to get my Diana-photos printed elsewhere. If I'll figure out how to make them presentable with the scanner and photoshop then I can print them out myself.

I varied the settings a lot so I'll be damned if I don't get anything good from this film.
Oh and I have an older film to be sent as well. I can't remember what's on it though. Hopefully some photos will come out decent from it too.

Fingers crossed :)
