I had an awesome photoshoot with Sina and her dog, Nasu, today! It was freezing cold, but Sina was a great sport and took it like a lady. ;)
Here's the first batch of the series. Pretty good for a first time model and for my second proper shoot with another person, if I may say so myself. 

Silence

Apologies for the silence in this blog. My camera hasn't moved much from its spot on this table, and I'm having a little quiet time in my photography at the moment. I'm sure I'll pick it up again soon, but for now I hope you'll be patient. :)

The Photography Weekend - Grand Finale

Before I went to Vaasa, I found some of my old drawings. I started wondering if they could be made into photographs, and it turned out they could. Heidi was a perfect model for these and she was a great help in bringing my visions to life. 

The first sketch is a part of a fantasy story I started planning when I was a teenager. I never finished it, but sometimes I return to read the drafts, and they include drawings of the characters, such as this vampire. We edited the final image together. Heidi came up with an idea to use the moon and the smoke and I loved it.

The other one doesn't have a particular story behind it, just something I drew once. 

Ever after never came

All in all I had an awesome and productive weekend. Heidi and I knew each other from the internet, and it was great to meet her in real life. She's an amazing model and extremely talented photographer and photoshopper, and she taught me a lot of useful things during my stay. And I fell in love with her furry children, Sira, Saaga & Killi. :)

The Photography Weekend - Saturday

On Saturday we went to Saarijärvi where I met Heidi's family and a friend, Ike. She agreed to model for us with her 25-year-old Icelandic horse, Aisuli. 

As the evening came and we returned to Vaasa, I ended up on "wrong" side of the camera as well.

Julia & Hiiri

Today I took some photos of Julia and her horse Hiiri ('Mouse' in English). It was a nice change to take photos of a white horse. The processing part was a bit easier than with photos of Pretti, for example. Surely there's always the danger of over-exposing, but I managed to have very few shots with that problem. The pace of his trot was in perfect harmony with my continuous shutter; whenever I got my timing right, his legs were in a perfect position in every shot (or if I had a bad timing, they were in a bad position in every shot).
